Snow Removal
Updates are posted as received while snow clearing is in progress.
Ward 1: Treherne & Lavenham Rural Area -
Ward 2: Rathwell & Surrounding Rural Area -
Ward 3: Town of Treherne -
The Municipality of Norfolk Treherne will have snow removal equipment out on the roads as soon as a storm passes and it is safe to proceed. Staff are only called in on weekends for extreme events and/or emergencies. Once snow removal services begin roads should be opened within 2 to 2 1/2 days after a storm. Depending on the storm and if the wind continues to blow or if there is a significant amount of snow, staff may be directed to make a trail and then come back and widen as time allows. In these situations where the storm is on-going it will take longer to have all roads opened. The plow truck now services the urban communities and transfer stations which allows the graders to focus on rural roads.
If you see equipment working, please take an alternate route and avoid the area. The less interruption while clearing snow, the faster the roads will get cleared!
Vehicles that are parked on an urban street or back lane must be moved to accommodate snow removal.
Please do not move snow from private property/boulevards onto or across roads, streets, back lanes, etc.
Thank you for your cooperation.
