Assist with annual snowmobile derby and fall supper

The Norfolk Treherne Community Development Corporation (CDC) promotes and develops our area's human and natural resources in order to sustain and enhance the economic and social well-being of the area's residents. 

 

For business start up, services include assistance in developing a business plan, researching business opportunities, researching financing opportunities and finding locations for new businesses. 

 

Tourism is an important economic benefit to the area with so many attractions and recreation venues. Housing and other community services also fall under the umbrella of Community Development. Much of Economic Development is making connections.

 

The Community Development Office is in the Municipal Office Complex with a full-time staff person, the Community Development Officer. While the position is funded by the Municipality of Norfolk Treherne, direction is provided by an independent Corporation. Services provided by the Community Development Corporation are free.

 

The NTCDC is also responsible for the Glass Bottle Buildings, Farmers' Market,  and over sees the 55+ Housing Complex.

Fire Chief - Jason Henderson

Work at Rathwell Bingo one Thursday evening per month,  assist with other fundraisers. 

Fundraising activities, take turns supervising skating, assist with putting the natural ice in. 

Plan annual snowmobile derby every March to fundraise for the Rathwell Fire Department

Board members, cleaning bees in the spring and fall, help organize fundraising events, help organize swim meets

Board members 

The chamber actively promotes the Municipality of Norfolk Treherne businesses. They are also the organizers of the annual 'Run for the Hills' Marathon.   

 

Mission Statement

"The purpose of the organization is to foster a dynamic economy and vibrant community, making Treherne and the surrounding community the best place in which to live, work, invest, and raise a family."

The Treherne Fire Department has up to 25 volunteers.  

Volunteer to be on the board or to assist with delivering hot meals to seniors at lunch time.

Treherne Kinette Club is always looking for new members.   The Kinettes fundraiser for various things in the community by planning events such as Community Birthday Calendars,  Treherne Town Wide Garage Sale in May,  Amazing Puzzle Race,  You've Been Flocked Fundraiser.
